Ingredients
- 1/2 lb Halibut 4 filets
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil divided
- 3/4 tsp Kosher Salt
- 1 large shallot thinly sliced
- 2 Garlic Cloves minced
- 1/2 small Lemon thinly sliced into rings
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried tarragon
- 1 pinch Crushed red pepper flakes optional
- 2 tbsp capers drained
- 1 handful chopped fresh parsley for garnish
- 1 handful chopped crispy fried onion for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F. Allow the halibut to come to room temperature.1/2 lb Halibut
- Pat the halibut dry. Rub the filets with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and kosher salt, dividing the oil and salt evenly between the filets.2 tbsp Olive Oil, 3/4 tsp Kosher Salt
- Place the sliced shallot, garlic, and lemon slices in the bottom of a 9 x 13" or 7 x 11" baking dish. Toss them with the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil.1 large shallot, 2 Garlic Cloves, 1/2 small Lemon
- Place the halibut filets in the baking dish. Sprinkle the filets with oregano, tarragon, red pepper flakes (if using), and capers.1 tsp dried oregano, 1 tsp dried tarragon, 1 pinch Crushed red pepper flakes, 2 tbsp capers
- Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 15 to 18 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fish. The fish should be flaky, and the internal temperature should reach 125°F for medium or 145°F for well-done.
- While the fish is baking, finely chop a handful of fresh parsley and crispy fried onions. Once the fish is done, garnish it with the chopped parsley and crispy onions. Serve immediately, with additional lemon slices if desired.1 handful chopped fresh parsley, 1 handful chopped crispy fried onion
